Finnich Glen is a 30 meters deep gorge near Loch Lomond. The name The Devil’s Pulpit referred to the mushroom-shaped rock. Some say the rock is where the Devil stood to address his followers, with the current swirling at his feet. Other say druids held secret meetings there, hidden from sight within the shadows of the gorge. Still more tell tales of witches using the rock as an execution block. Over time, many people began referring to Finnich Gorge as The Devil’s Pulpit.
